About the Program

Throughout the DSEPS licensure program, 学生 explore and execute organizational change principles. Coursework with data, research methods, technology and information systems lead 学生 to create long-range, continuous improvement plans for a school or district through the lens of pupil services. Operational planning and problem-solving skills are developed through coursework, preparing 学生 to succeed in practicum sections of the program. Historical and contemporary national and state legislation and funding systems that support organizational and leadership reforms related to pupil services are another key focus of program coursework.

During the first practicum of the program, 学生 analyze and build their own leadership theory as they gain insight into everyday school operations through observation of school leaders. Self-discovery and development are measured through a self-assessment and a personalized learning plan. The second practicum focuses on learning how 所有 stakeholders of a school community including teachers, non-certified staff, 学生, administrators, support staff and external organizations relate to and support inclusive learning environments.
